A.J. is a 41-year-old male known to the trauma service, presenting 2 months post-MVC with a complex surgical history including liver laceration repair, bowel evisceration, splenectomy, transverse colon resection with colostomy, and pancreatic transection, complicated by retroperitoneal abscess managed with chronic JP drains. He had been progressing well in rehab until noticing purulent drainage around his colostomy site. He denies fever and pain. Referred from a GI appointment for CT abdomen/pelvis; contrast was deferred by radiology due to elevated creatinine.
