Polymyalgia Rheumatica

J.S. is a 72-year-old female presenting with an 8-week history of intermittent subjective fevers that began after a dental visit she describes as “dirty.” She has not measured her temperature but reports feeling feverish at times. Since symptom onset, she has developed fatigue, malaise, decreased appetite, diffuse joint pain (knees, hips, shoulders), and episodic hand swelling (not present today). Previously very healthy and highly active—managing farm work independently—she now feels persistently tired and “not herself.” Her prior tooth pain has resolved, and she has no other specific complaints today.
