HCV

J.H. is a 43-year-old biracial male seen for routine HIV follow-up. He was diagnosed approximately 8 years ago on routine screening and was asymptomatic at diagnosis. He reports excellent adherence to daily Biktarvy® with no missed doses, side effects, or current complaints and states he feels well.

He reports multiple new sexual partners weekly (about four) and “tries to use condoms.” He undergoes STI screening every 4–6 weeks (sometimes sooner or after exposures) at various sites including an ID clinic, the health department, private clinics, pop-up testing events, and online/mail-in services. He is highly focused on STI prevention and keeps doxycycline PEP available from multiple in-person and online sources. He also reports regular weightlifting and use of protein powder and other muscle-building supplements purchased from a specialty store.
