Get ready for an interactive 1.5-hour Grand Rounds session on PTSD created for nurse practitioners in primary care. Using a realistic patient case, you’ll strengthen your skills in PTSD screening, differential considerations, diagnosis, and treatment planning across the continuum of care.
You’ll follow the story of John, a 35-year-old veteran experiencing PTSD symptoms since returning from active duty, and use his presentation to walk through key clinical decision points—from initial screening and confirmation of diagnosis to selecting and sequencing treatment options. The session covers evidence-based approaches including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and pharmacologic strategies, along with emerging and adjunctive modalities such as EMDR and Alpha-Stim. Practical takeaways and patient-centered communication tips are woven throughout to help you build rapport, support recovery, and improve outcomes for patients impacted by trauma.
