Pharmacology expert Dr. Margaret Fitzgerald will help you learn to:
- Identify the effects of aging on pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics
- Recognize safety issues with the use of select medications in the elderly
- Describe possible drug candidates for deprescribing in the older adult
- Consider normative age-related changes and subsequent impact on drug choice and dose
- Implement deprescribing principles
- Avoid using medications where there is little evidence of benefit but evidence of risk
